2023 Estate Arneis
Tasting notes
Arneis is from Italy's much-respected Piedmont wine region where it was known in Italy as a difficult grape to grow and a low yielding grape; the theory behind the varieties name is that it derived from a Piedmontese word meaning "little rascal". By the 1960s, just a few hectares of Arneis vines remained around the world and only a handful of producers were making the wine. Due to its ability to produce full-bodied wines offering aromatic floralscents, delicate aromas and generous flavors, Arneis has been rescued from the verge of extinction and is now enjoying a revival. There are now more than 1500 acres (605ha) of Arneis vines in Piedmont, and small quantities are also grown in California, Australia and New Zealand. With traditional Italy technique matched with new world style, our Arneis offers citrus flavors in the forefront with a crisp refreshing finish. There are also notes of apricots & pears.
